    Governor and J.J. comic books are based on the television series that ran from 1969 to 1970 on CBS. William Drinkwater (played by Dan Dailey) was the governor of a Midwestern state. Since he was a widower, his "first lady" was his trendy, clever, opinionated daughter Jennifer Jo (aka J.J., played by Julie Sommars), who worked as a zookeeper.
