Young Tamsin is an outsider and a loner, and yet even in that she is like many teenage girl. Living in a dead-end town—literally, there is only one road into it —a nd barely able to tolerate or communicate with her parents, most of her enjoyment comes from the clothes she makes herself. One such abandoned discovery changes her life: a black-and-white outfit with a skeletal pattern across it, that she sees as a Halloween costume but quickly learns to be something more. Especially when she discovers the mysterious key hidden inside it. Now the dead-end town is the least of her worries; how to get back to it from wherever she’s been transported too is far more important.
