The Monkees comic books were based on the TV show featuring the pop group The Monkees.. Assembled in Los Angeles in 1966 by Robert "Bob" Rafelson and Bert Schneider, the musical acting quartet was composed of Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith Peter Tork, and Davy Jones. The band's music was initially supervised by producer Don Kirshner.
The Monkees were spoofed in "Not Brand Echh #3".
