Young Tamsin is an outsider and a loner, and yet even in that she is like many teenage girl. Living in a dead-end town—literally, there is only one road into it —a nd barely able to tolerate or communicate with her parents, most of her enjoyment comes from the clothes she makes herself. One such abandoned discovery changes her life: a black-and-white outfit with a skeletal pattern across it, that she sees as a Halloween costume but quickly learns to be something more.
