When DC comics re-launched its comic line in 1987, Superman (1987 series) became the key Superman title, with Superman stories also appearing in Action Comics, Superman: The Man of Steel, Superman: and The Man of Tomorrow. This series was preceeded by the epic 6-part mini-series entitled 'Man of Steel', where John Byrne substantially revised the Superman saga.
In 2006, DC discontintued this title and at the same time it changed the name of 'Adventures of Superman' to 'Superman (2006 series)'.
